Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts while fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts. Several spells of showers will occur in North-Western province as well.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Uva and Central provinces and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds about (40-45) kmph can be expected at times in Northern and North-Central provinces and in Hambantota, Puttalam and Trincomalee districts.
Winds will be south-westerly over sea area around the island and speed will be (25-35) kmph.
Wind speed may increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai and from Hambantota to Pottuvil. Wind speed may increase up to (40-45) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai and from Hambantota to Pottuvil will be rough at times. The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle will be fairly rough at times.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in Anuradhapura, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places over elsewhere during the evening or night.
Winds will be south-westerly and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Fairly strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times in Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee and Hambantota districts while wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurai and Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil may be rough at times.

Landslide Early Warnings issued to Galle, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matale, Matara and Ratnapura Districts

The Landslide Early Warning Center of the National Building Research Organisation has extended the land slide early warnings issued to the Districts of Galle, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matara and Ratnapura and issued a new warning to the District of Matale.
Accordingly, Level II land slide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Neluwa in the Galle district, Ingiriya in the Kalutara District, Pasbage Korale in the Kandy district, Pitabeddara and Kotapola in the Matara district and Kalawana, Ayagama, Ratnapura, Eheliyagoda, Kuruwita, Pelmadulla, Nivithigala, Kiriella and Elapatha in the Ratnapura district.
Level I landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Elpitiya in the Galle district, Walasmulla in the Hambanthota district, Aggalawaththa, Bulathsinhala, Mathugama and Walallawita in the Kalutara district, Yatiyanthota, Deraniyagala,Ruwanwella, Kegalle and Dehiowita in the Kegalle district, Yatawatta in the Matale district and Imbulpe and Kolonna in the Ratnapura district

The prevailing showery condition in south-western part of the Island is expected to continue further.
