Showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Northern provinces

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Northern provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Northern provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other areas of the island during the evening or night.

Strong winds about (40-45)kmph can be expected at times over Northern, North-central, North-western, and Central provinces and in Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.

Winds will be South-westerly in the sea areas around the island and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (50-55) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Trincomalee to Puttalam via Kankasanthurai and Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Trincomalee to Puttalam via Kankasanthurai and Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil can be rough at times while the other sea areas around the island can be moderate. Strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kurunegala and Mannar districts after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
