Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces during the morning.
Rainy condition is expected to enhance over Northern, North-central, and Eastern provinces and in Matale and Kandy districts in the next few days from today.
Showers will occur at times in Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Uva provinces and in Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 75mm can be expected at some places. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Kandy district during the afternoon or night.
Fairly strong winds of (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Northern, Eastern, North-central and North-western provinces and in Hambantota district.
Winds will be north-easterly in the sea areas, and speed will be (30-40) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast, extending from Colombo to Hambantota via Puttalam,
Kankasanthurai and Trincomalee.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Hambantota via Puttalam, Kankasanthurai and Trincomalee will be fairly rough at times.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages

Showers will occur at times in Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern, North-central, Central and Uva provinces , while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere in the evening or night. Fairly heavy showers about 75 mm can be expected at some places in Eastern, North-central, Uva and North western provinces.
Fairly strong winds of (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Eastern slope of the central hills and Northern, North-central, Eastern and North-western provinces and in Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Landslide early warnings issued to Badulla , Kandy , Kurunegala , Matale
The Landslide Early Warning Centre of the National Building Research Organization [NBRO] has issued landslide early warnings to the districts of Badulla, Kandy Kurunegala and Matalae effective until 4.00pm today [21].
Accordingly,
Level II [Amber] landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Doluwa and Ududumbara in the Kandy district and Rattota, Wilgamuwa, Yatawatta and Ukuwela in the Matale district.
Level I [Yellow] landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Passara, Badulla and Hali Ela in the Badulla district, Pahathadumbara, Medadumbara and Panvila in the Kandy district, Rideegama in the Kurunegala district and Laggala Pallegama, Ambanganga Korale, Naula, Pallepola and Matale in the Matale district.

Several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale, Nuwara-Eliya and Hambantota districts. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere in the evening or night.
Fairly strong winds of (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Eastern slope of the central hills and Northern, North-central, Eastern and North-western provinces and in Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
Winds will be north-easterly in the sea areas around the island and speed will be (30-40) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
The sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be fairly rough at times but strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
