Mainly fair weather will prevail over most places of the island.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Western and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara and Ampara districts during the morning.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be (25-35) kmph. Fairly strong winds of about 40kmph can be expected at times over North-Central and North-Western provinces and in Hambanthota and Monaragala districts. Wind speed may increase up to (40-50) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and in sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be fairly rough at times. The other sea areas around the Island may be slight to moderate.
Near shore sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Galle via Puttalam and Colombo may experience rough seas due to increased wave period.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Heavy showers above 100mm can be expected at some places in Hambantota district, fairly heavy showers above 50mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere, particularly in Eastern and Uva provinces during the evening or night.
Winds will be south-westerly and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurai and Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil may be rough at times.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and North-western provinces and in Anuradhapura, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara and Puttalam districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places over elsewhere during the evening or night.
Winds will be south-westerly and wind speed will be (30-40) kmph. Fairly strong winds about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times in Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces and in Trincomalee and Hambantota districts while wind speed can increase up to (50-60) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurai and Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil may be rough at times.

Landslide Early Warnings issued to Galle, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matale, Matara and Ratnapura Districts

The Landslide Early Warning Center of the National Building Research Organisation has extended the land slide early warnings issued to the Districts of Galle, Hambantota, Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matara and Ratnapura and issued a new warning to the District of Matale.
Accordingly, Level II land slide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Neluwa in the Galle district, Ingiriya in the Kalutara District, Pasbage Korale in the Kandy district, Pitabeddara and Kotapola in the Matara district and Kalawana, Ayagama, Ratnapura, Eheliyagoda, Kuruwita, Pelmadulla, Nivithigala, Kiriella and Elapatha in the Ratnapura district.
Level I landslide early warnings have been issued to the Divisional Secretaries Divisions and surrounding areas of Elpitiya in the Galle district, Walasmulla in the Hambanthota district, Aggalawaththa, Bulathsinhala, Mathugama and Walallawita in the Kalutara district, Yatiyanthota, Deraniyagala,Ruwanwella, Kegalle and Dehiowita in the Kegalle district, Yatawatta in the Matale district and Imbulpe and Kolonna in the Ratnapura district
