Marikkar thanks President for exposing nudity of Pohottuwa politicians

SJB Colombo District MP S.M. Marikkar has said he is thankful to President Ranil Wickremesinghe for exposing the true faces of the Pohottuwa politicos.

Addressing the media in Colombo on Tuesday, Marikkar said that the President had got the Pohottuwa politicians to praise the IMF and speak of the benefits of the sale of national assets.

“We have had a ringside view of President Wickremesinghe’s politics for more than 20 years. Although he failed in many of his endeavours, he has succeeded in one. He has succeeded in exposing the Pohottuwa politicians. They were the ones who bashed IMF for some months but they are now singing hosannas for it. They asked and secured a popular mandate to stop privatisation. The President has got them to extol the benefits of selling state enterprises. This same bunch used to accuse Wickremesinghe of his involvement in the Treasury bond scams.

Today, they come on TV and say that the country would not have survived if not for the economic and financial acumen of the President. They dubbed Gotabaya Rajapaksa as the modern day Dutu Gemunu a couple of years ago. Now, they are full of praise for Wickremesinghe and admit that they made a mistake by supporting Gotabaya.
