Kenyan Prez Ruto congratulates PM Harini Amarasuriya

Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Harini Amarasuriya on her recent appointment as the 16th Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. In his message, President Ruto emphasized the strong and longstanding relations between Kenya and Sri Lanka, which have flourished since the establishment of diplomatic ties.
He expressed Kenya’s deep gratitude for the enduring friendship between the two nations and reiterated his government’s commitment to further strengthening these ties for the mutual benefit of both countries. President Ruto assured Dr. Amarasuriya of his personal commitment, as well as that of his government, to work closely with Sri Lanka in areas of political, economic, and technical collaboration.
The Kenyan President also conveyed his eagerness to engage with Prime Minister Amarasuriya’s administration at the earliest opportunity to advance these partnerships, including bolstering multilateral cooperation.

Cabinet nod to celebrate centenary of Tea Research Institute from 9th November to 14th November 2025

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Plantation and Community Infrastructure Facilities to hold the 26th Session of the Intergovernmental Group on Tea of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the 4th Annual Meeting of the Asian Tea Alliance to commemorate the Centenary Anniversary of the Tea Research Institute in Colombo from 9th November to 14th November in 2025 and to take necessary steps in that respect.
