Huawei launches features-packed new smartwatch and wearables in Sri Lanka

As the use of wearable hi-tech such as smartwatches and wireless ear buds reaches a new high, Huawei, the global smartphone brand recently unveiled a range of its high-end series for the Sri Lankan wearable enthusiast.

Huawei, which currently leads the global wearables market, continues to unveil products for all types of consumers – flagship, mid-range and entry level. The latest additions to Huawei’s wearables line up are the Huawei Watch GT2 Pro, Huawei FreeBuds Studio, Huawei FreeLace Pro, Huawei FreeBuds Pro and Huawei Sound X.

The new Huawei Watch GT2 Pro comes in an elegant and a lightweight design; its no less than a sapphire watch dial packed in a titanium frame. Watch GT2 Pro offers over 200 watch faces to match the style of the day. It can measure a host of metrics in health, sports, weather, navigation and even outdoor planning. For health, its metrics are sleep monitoring (with unique Huawei TruSleep technology), heart rates, Huawei TruRelax for stress monitoring, and Oxygen Saturation Detection (and more), for sports it packs more than 100 sports modes and measures metrics on skiing, snowboarding and golf (its new golf driving range mode enables users to analyse the swing posture and also provides data references for improving swing speed and frequency). Watch GT2 Pro picks up calls and it can even activate the smartphone remotely and take a photo. Huawei Watch GT2 Pro supports wireless charging and when fully charged, the device can last up to 14 days of typical usage and 8 days of heavy usage.

Huawei FreeBuds Studio is a pair of headphones with a powerful noise canceling system called Active Noise Cancellation. Designed with an omni-directional 8 microphones system, with 4 high sensitivity microphones working on either sides, the headphones detect the ambient sound more accurately for better noise cancellation. It is highly comfortable to wear with its Tee Audio Tube (TAT) structure that balances the air pressure in ears. Huawei FreeBuds Studio makes calling hassle free even in a noisy environment with its 6 mic call noise cancellation system.

ANC, a leading Lankan higher education provider, partnered with Northwood University to host the 2025 NUCARS simulation in Sri Lanka for the first time.
