Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning

Several spells of showers will occur in Eastern and Uva provinces while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-Western provinces during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy showers above75mm are likely at some places in Rathnapura, Kalutara, Galle and Matara districts.

Winds will be easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from   Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara.

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara can be moderate. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.

General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

South-West monsoon conditions are gradually getting established over the island.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-western, North-central and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm are likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Puttalam, Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Uva province and in Ampara district during the evening or night.

Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over Western slopes of the central hills and in Northern, North-central, North-western and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers

Heavy rain fall above 100 mm is likely at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Puttalam, Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere of the island during the evening or night.

Fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over North-western, North-central, Northern and Southern provinces and in Trincomalee district.
