Fair weather in most parts of the island

Except for a few showers in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts, mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the Island.
Winds will be south-westerly and speed will be (30-40) kmph. Strong winds about (45-50) kmph can be expected at times in western slopes of the central hills, Northern, North-Central, Southern and North-Western provinces, and in Trincomalee district. Wind speed may increase up to (55-65) kmph at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Pottuvil and the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai.Wind speed may increase up to (45-50) kmph at times in the other sea areas around the island.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts during the morning.
A few showers may occur in Eastern province and in Polonnaruwa district. While showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Northwestern provinces after 2.00 p.m. Heavy showers about 100 mm can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kurunegala and Mannar districts after 2.00 p.m. Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm can be expected at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
