Dialog Facilitates Sri Lanka’s First Multi-Camera Angle Viewing of Big Match Futureverse Livestream
Presenting viewers with access to exclusive footage and detailed play-by-play of the action on the School Big Match field, Dialog Axiata PLC enabled the sport’s enthusiasts with the option to choose from four different camera angles while watching the Metaverse live-stream of School Big Matches in its Futureverse.
Introducing Sri Lanka’s First Metaverse Sporting Event, Dialog’s Futureverse revolutionized the way Sri Lankans experience sports action, as it creates a convenient and immersive experience for users to watch their favourite sports at their convenience and comfort. With no prior registration or tickets required, those who streamed the Big Matches via the Futureverse could zoom in and catch the moments missed by the naked eye with multiple viewpoints via four different camera angles, including ‘Main View’, ‘Ground View’, ‘3rd Umpire View’ along with an exclusive ‘Behind the Scenes View’ of the matches. This also marked the first time in Sri Lanka that selected school’s big matches were live-streamed in the Metaverse with the 46th One Day Encounter between Royal College and S. Thomas’ College, St. Joseph’s vs St. Peter’s Test Encounter and One Day Encounter making their Futureverse debuts.
The annual big matches played between rival school cricket teams in major cities around Sri Lanka are backed by a rich cricketing history and have a pattern of producing top, world-class cricket players for the Sri Lanka national cricket team. Cabinet approves 14 day Visa extension
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the resolution furnished bys the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs to extend Visas of those unable to leave Sri Lanka due to the
cancellation of flights to the Middle East from 28.02.2026 for another 14 days without any payments and re-extend the extended Visas for another 14 days without payments if the flights cancellations continue.

Sunil Galagama appointed as District Secretary Badulla
Taking into consideration the resolution furnished by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Council, and Local Government, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided to appoint Sunil Galagama, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, who is currently serving as an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, as the District Secretary to Badulla Administrative District with immediate effect.

The Cabinet of Ministers, taking into consideration the resolution furnished by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Council, and Local Government, have decided to appoint Anupama Mangala Wickramaarachchi, a special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, who is serving as the Additional Commissioner General of Agrarian Development of the Department of the Agrarian Development at present, as the District Secretary , Ampara Administrative district with immediate effect.
