DFCC Bank continue Tree Planting Campaigns to support a Sustainable Environment

A tree planting campaign organized by the Sustainability Unit of DFCC Bank was held last weekend at Vihara Mahadevi Park, Colombo 7 with the participation of the Bank’s CEO, Lakshman Silva, together with DFCC staff members and their families.
The campaign began at 9 am with a Na tree planted by the CEO. A variety of native trees comprising Na, Ehela and Kumbuk were planted at the location in partnership with Reforest Sri Lanka and the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC).
DFCC Bank’s sustainability initiatives are focused on the 4E’s, namely Entrepreneurship (for Small and Medium Enterprises), Education, Environment and Emergency Relief.
Staying true to its core value of being truly sustainable in terms of economic, environmental, and social aspects, DFCC Bank has an ongoing practice that engages the staff, communities and other stakeholders to build a better environment for the future generation through initiatives such as ‘Samata English Educational CSR programs’, beach clean-ups, plastic recycling and e-waste disposal projects, initiative that promote “home gardening” and tree planting campaigns that are carried out to commemorate staff birthdays.
