Daraz presents the first in-app livestream shopping experience
South Asia’s leading e-commerce marketplace, Daraz, is introducing Sri Lanka’s first in-app shoppable Livestream feature to give users the ultimate shopping experience. With this Livestream technology, real-time content from Daraz will be available to customers, enabling greater interaction between sellers and buyers.
Furthermore, the new user interface will allow consumers to engage directly with sellers via comments in real-time while featuring a diverse range of content, inclusive of product showcases, trivia games and Q&A sessions. This engagement is ideal in the context of the current pandemic situation, as it enables shoppers an experience close to what they were been forced to leave behind.
As the largest e-commerce platform in Sri Lanka, Daraz has continuously shown its commitment to supporting local businesses and SMEs. These new features assist businesses as they adapt to new digital business models, resulting from the pandemic continuing to take a toll on traditional brick-and-mortar retail. By combining entertainment with instant purchasing, sellers will be able to deliver personalized shopping experiences and cultivate customer loyalty and trust.
“This new feature will revolutionize Sri Lanka’s e-commerce industry and consumers’ shopping experience and habits. We are excited to introduce this concept of in-app shoppertainment in Sri Lanka. Enhancing consumer experiences via digital platforms, while empowering businesses to look to the future is essential as the world continues its transition to more digital-based forms of marketing,” said Heshan Perera-Head of Marketing of Daraz.
Over the past year, driven by the onset of COVID-19, Sri Lanka’s s e-commerce sector has grown rapidly with businesses transitioning to alternative, mainly digital, platforms to sustain operations. As more users join the fray, Daraz is continuously persevering towards the adoption of new technologies that enable a seamless and engaging shopping experience. Delivering on their promises to both consumers and businesses, Daraz continues to tap into the latest technologies, revolutionizing the marketing realm in Sri Lanka.
