Afternoon thundershowers in southern half of the island in next few days

The atmospheric condition is getting favorable for afternoon thundershowers in southern half of the island during the next few days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Southern, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts during the afternoon or night.
Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere over the island.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Northern and Eastern provinces while fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places elsewhere.

The low pressure area over the island continues to persist and cloudy skies can be expected over most parts of the island.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in Hambantota district. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m. Heavy showers above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Northern and Eastern provinces while fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places elsewhere.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

The low-level atmospheric disturbance to the East of the island developed in to a low pressure system. Cloudy skies can be expected over most parts of the island.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces and at several places in the other areas of the island after 1.00p.m.

Cloudy skies are expected over the Northern, Eastern, North-central, Uva and Central provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the early hours of the morning.
Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely at some places in the Northern and Eastern provinces while fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces.
Showers may occur in the Uva province and in Hambantota district during the morning while showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other areas of the island after 1.00 p.m.
