Air Force condemn CH to tenth straight defeat

Air Force SC kept CH&FC at bay in a battling second half performance to complete the double this year over CH, 15-6 in their plate segment match of the ongoing Inter-Club Division A league rugby tournament at Maitland crescent, Colombo yesterday.

Along with the routine pattern of CH’s defeats this year, they managed to take the lead 3-0 going into the breather by virtue of a 27th minute Nalin Kumara penalty. Kumara increased the margin with another three pointer five minutes into the second half but what hurt them was the lack of tries which meant Air Force could easily force the issue at any time.

Which they did as K. Perera cut the deficit to three with the first penalty of the visitors and in the 57th minute they went ahead from the first try of the game which was converted. Five minutes later Lahiru Udayanga went over for the second try for Air Force and the scores remained undisturbed till the final whistle condemning CH to their tenth straight loss of the season.

Air Force move to 13 points with this victory and CH is yet to open scoring with only two rounds left. – (CP)
