After staying flat for weeks, the rupee fell against the greenback on Friday, currency dealers said.
"After weeks of trading below Rs. 132.00 the U.S. dollar managed to break higher to close stronger at Rs. 132.25-40 from its opening level of 132.00-10. Early demand at the open saw the rupee weaken as low as Rs. 132.75 against the greenback which incidentally was the market high for the day and the lowest was at Rs. 132.10," the Sri Lanka Forex Association said.
