172 returnees released from SLAF Quarantine Centre at Iranamadu



One hundred and seventy two passengers who returned from overseas and underwent a mandatory two weeks’ quarantine, at the SLAF Centre, at Iranamadu, from the 20th of March 2020, have been released. This Quarantine Centre, operated by the Sri Lanka Air Force, was established on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias.


The entire operation of this Quarantine Centre was managed by the SLAF Station Iranamadu under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, Group Captain U.P.Y.R. Pathirana.


During their stay in Iranamadu, the passengers were provided with all meals, essential items, including 4G internet, as well. The passengers were monitored on a 24-hour basis by SLAF Medical personnel in order to maintain and make sure they are free from Covid-19 infection.
