Some traders, including supermarkets’ are not heeding President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s directive that the maximum retail price of dhal would be Rs 65 from midnight 17th of March.

Consumers who went to a supermarket in the Matara District complained that they had paid Rs. 150 per kilo of dhal.

People queued up at the ‘Laksathosa’ outlet in Dickwella, where dhat was sold at the controlled price of Rs 65 and canned fish at Rs. 100 per 235g.
