Curfew in Colombo, Gampaha, Puttalam and five districts in NP lifted at 6am today



The countrywide Police curfew in the Colombo, Gampaha, and Puttalam Districts and five Districts in the Northern Province would be lifted at 06.00 am today (24), the President’s Media Division (PMD) states in a communiqué yesterday.


It says that the curfew will be re-imposed in the above mentioned areas at noon today.


The Police curfew will thereafter be in effect till 06.00 am on Friday (27), and will be re-imposed at noon the same day.


It says the Police curfew for other districts re-imposed yesterday will be effective till 06.00 am on Thursday (26), and will be re-imposed again at 12.00 noon the same day.


Transportation within all Districts and sightseeing tours for foreign nationals have been completely banned, it says.


The PMD states farmers have been permitted to continue work within the districts during curfew hours.
