The CID told the Kalmunai Magistrate’s Court, yesterday, that the DNA sample of Sara, an Easter bomb suspect, and the one obtained from a mangled body believed to be of hers, in a hideout, did not match.

Sara is believed to have been killed in her hideout in a suicide bomb blast at Sainthamaruthu following the Easter bomb blasts. DNA samples were obtained from the remains of 16 suspects found at the bomb site.

Magistrate I. N. Riswan instructed the CID to conduct further investigations and submit the final DNA report to court on 3rd February.

The CID told the magistrate that among the remains of 16 suspects only the DNA samples of the suspect Sara alias Pulasthini Mahendiran didn't match.

Meanwhile, 12 suspects arrested from the areas adjacent to Sara’s hideout were further remanded till 3rd February as the police objected to their bail applications.
