Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Tillakaratne, yesterday, ordered that Minister Rajitha Senaratne appear before court, on January 17.

The Attorney General filed a revision application, last week, in the Supreme Court, seeking the revocation of the order granting bail to former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, who is accused of organising the "White Van" news conference in the run-up to the last presidential election.

In the revision application, the Attorney General said that not even a statement had been recorded from Senaratne,

Senaratne was taken into custody while he was warded at the Lanka Hospital.

The AG said that no sooner had an arrest warrant been issued on Senaratne than he got himself admitted to hospital.

The Magistrate turned down the request made by Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Pieris that a medical report be obtained from the Judicial Medical Officer on the condition of Senaratne.
