Simply the best for Sandra Jackson

I’m doubly sure all roads, in Melbourne, where Sri Lankans hold sway, will lead to The Grand on Cathies, 90, Cathies Lane, Wantirna South, Victoria 3152, this Saturday, June 29th.

It’s not just another occasion for Sri Lankans, in that part of the world, to gather and enjoy an outing of fun.

Saturday, June 29th, 2019, marks the first death anniversary of a lady who brought happiness to so many with her voice.

She was unique in many ways. She was ‘simply the best’ and that tag was synonymous with Sandra Jackson.

Unfortunately, Sandra bid goodbye to all her loved ones, relatives, friends, fans, and music lovers on that fateful day – June 29th, 2018 – of a respiratory problem.

However, what Sandra did for the music scene, especially in Melbourne, with her band, Replay-6, will never ever be forgotten.

On Saturday, June 29th, Sandra Jackson will be remembered in a very special way, in a concert aptly titled ‘Sandra Jackson Tribute Night.’

A galaxy of some of Sri Lanka’s best known entertainers (domiciled in Australia and from Sri Lanka), will light up the stage, at The Grand on Cathies, to pay tribute to this lovely lady.

From 8.00 pm onwards, the venue will resonate to the vocals, and music, of Donald Peiries, Benjy Ranabahu, and Marlon Amarasekera (from the band Mirage), Noeline Honter, Dalreen Suby, Melantha Perera, Willie Rezel, Desmond De Silva, Malcolm De Kauwe, Chris Mant (Cloud 9), Cameron Colombege, (No Limit), Andrea Marr, Rob Foenander, Kerrigan Labrooy, Dallas Achilles, David and Tilarni Senn, Des White, Derrick Junkeer, Lozaine Paul, Kelvin and Vanessa Speldewinde, Conrad De Silva, Eddie James, Shehera Rodrigo, Elmo Wells Jansz, Raj

Dassanayake, Ash and Allison Jayasinha, and Tatum.

Replay 6 and No Limit will accompany the artistes, on stage.

All proceeds, from this tribute show, I’m told, will be donated to the Alfred Hospital, in Melbourne, to fund research into pulmonary fibrosis.
