The Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratna yesterday ordered Gamini Senarath the Chief of Staff of the former President and three other suspects to appear before the Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar pertaining to an allegation of abuse of Rs. 4 billion belonging to the state.

These four suspects had been indicted by the Attorney-General in respect of misappropriation of public funds.

The suspects are Gamini Senarath, Piyadasa Kudabalage, Neil Bandra Hapuhinne and Lasantha Bandara.

Yesterday the Fort Magistrate also ordered the first two suspects, who had earlier taken back their passports from court custody to hand them back.

The suspects had entered the Magistrate's court premises by jumping over public drains to avoid the cameramen, who were waiting to photograph them.
