Scotland has created history by beating England in the one-off ODI by six runs. That was their first ever victory, over much fancied Englishmen who ranked number one ODI team in the world.

By scoring 371 for 5 wickets in 50 overs, Scotland not only registered their highest ever ODI score but it became the highest score by an Associate Member.

After an impressive opening partnership of 103 runs in 13.4 overs by Matthew Cross and Coetzer, the Man of the match Calum Macleod scored an unbeaten 140 runs in 94 balls, with 16 boundaries and 3 sixes for Scotland.

Although England made a valiant fight back they were bowled out for 365 runs, just six runs short of the victory target.

Credit should also go to the Englishman, Bairstow for scoring 105 in 59 balls (third fastest by an English batsman in ODI cricket), thus becoming the first English batsman to score three ODI centuries in a row. The first two came against New Zealand in March.
