CH & FC recorded their fifth victory in the Dialog Rugby League 2017/18 beating Air Force SC by 28 points to 12 in their second-round fixture worked out at Race Course International Stadium, Colombo yesterday.

Air Force center cum place kicker, Charith Senevirathne started off scoring by booting over two penalties to give the early lead for the visitors while the hosts fly-half Samuel Maduwantha slotted over one penalty. Senevirathne booted over another penalty kick as the airmen applied early pressure on the home team.

At the stroke of the half-time, CH & FC got themselves ahead in the scoreboard when nippy scrum-half Avishka Lee planted the first try of the match which was well converted by Maduwantha as the hosts got a slender one-point lead at half-time.

After half-time, Maduwantha slotted over two more penalties to extend the lead for CH while Senevirathne continued his good day with the boot, kicking the fourth penalty in the 55th minute of the match.

CH & FC controlled the wet-ball well under soggy conditions while the airmen had no penetration against a determined home team who defended excellently. Pradeep Kurukulasooriya and Lee Keegal scored late tries for CH which ensured the win for the home team despite a valiant effort by the visitors in a rainy evening.
