Patana Walk for Change on Saturday

The Old Boys Association of Isipatana College, Colombo will conduct "Walk for Change" in order to raise funds for the ‘Change 20/20’ infrastructure development project of the school. The ‘Walk’ will be held on Saturday (9) starting at 2 pm from College premises. It will cover a distance of five kilo metres and will feature many attractive events.

The parade will march from College premises, towards Police Park and Thummulla junction, turn towards Bambalapitiya and proceed through Duplication Road, Dickmons Road and conclude at Henri Pedris Grounds.

"We take pleasure informing you that our Alma Mater is going through a mammoth transformation in upgrading all infrastructure facilities at College. In this view the College buildings will be upgraded, front view will be changed along with landscaping and paving. The project is aimed at total transformation of College physical evidence by Year 2020. This Walk is organized in order to raise the much needed funds for the above project," a press release issued by the organisers of the event said.

The "Walk for Change" project will be joined by over 12,000 participants covering students of all age groups, Old Boys covering different batch grades, parents and well wishes. As a school which has over 25 sports and many cultural activities, the event will display every sports act during the Walk. The theme of the walk is "Go Green" and the organisers said that they would not use polythene for decorations and minimize the use of plastic. A tree planting initiative will be done at the College.

The Walk will feature Horses, Vintage Cars, Media Trucks, Electric cars, Longest College flag and many other features to make this walk an attractive parade. The concluding carnival will be held at Henri Pedris Park.

Isipathana College OBA together with JOBU and SDS is jointly organizing this walk.A special merchandise counter will be opened at College premises from 7 am to 7 pm daily, to purchase tickets and collection of T/Shirts and caps for the event.
