British HC not in touch with Taiwan bank robbery suspects



British High Commission in Colombo yesterday told The Island that it hadn’t intervened on behalf of Shalila Moonasinghe and Janaka Nammuni remanded in connection with a case investigated by Sri Lankan authorities.

Asked whether the BHC had intervened on behalf of British national Moonasinghe and Sri Lanka British dual citizen Nammuni over alleged theft of money from Taiwan based Far Eastern International Bank recently,a spokesperson for the BHC said: "The BHC in Colombo has not been in contact with either Shalila Moonasinghe or Janaka Nammuni."
