General Secretary of the UPFA and Fisheries Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said yesterday that President Maithripala Sirisena had instructed the top members of the SLFP to finish the re-organisation activities of the party to face the next local government polls and report back to him by March this year.
The minister said that the re-organisation of the party had been fast-tracked and many of those who had left the party for various reasons during the recent past had returned to its fold.
Minister Amaraweera said that SLFP youth organisations, and women’s organisations were being set up at the district level and bhikkhu organisations at the electorate level.
"All those who love the SLFP will join forces with us and there will be no room for anyone to divide the party," Amaraweera said.
