Lanka Bell advanced its 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) connectivity with a next-generation IP-MPLS network implemented by KBSL Information Technologies, to deliver more cost effective and reliable services to the company’s 1,000,000 subscriber base.

Established in 1997, Lanka Bell provides state-of-the-art voice and data solutions to both its residential and business clientele. The homegrown Telco launched 4G LTE in February 2014, thereby joining the national effort to advance the nation’s digital economy with enhanced connectivity solutions and technology. It has seen rapid growth in its user base since then. Managing Director Lanka Bell, Dr. Prasad Samarasinghe said, "We’ve seen record growth in network traffic since we launched 4G LTE and realised the need for redesigning the existing infrastructure and network to support this growth."

KBSL Information Technologies, an IT Systems Integrator with over three decades of industry experience analysed the existing infrastructure and created a custom next-generation network (NGN) design to meet Lanka Bell’s growing needs.
